A whopping 25 books in a year. I do remember reading in some book (not in this list) that, few important things for our lives are written in some books. We don't know which books they are. So, keep reading - chances are high that we end up reading those books. But that's not the reason for my reading habit. We'll do a raincheck on that sometime later.

The three books by Sujatha are not worth mentioning because I hear Sujatha has written far better books. Those who want to kill time can read those by Chetan Bhagat. James Patterson - forget him. Those are detective stories that are not fast paced as they are claimed.

Jeffrey Archers are usually page turners. You can expect board meetings, acquisitions and Senate elections. Ludlum's Bourne series is a different breed. If you've not seen the movies, you'd definitely enjoy them.

Paulo Coelho can slow down your lives. He'd reduce your enthusiasm levels. Mario Puzo is the Mafia specialist. These are thoroughly entertaining.

P.S. I Love You deals with life after death i.e., the death of loved ones. You can find if you're emotional enough, if you read this book. Daddy is a long, patience-testing story of a dad.

The Art of Creative Thinking - Read a sample chapter from this book and know for yourself.

The Fountainhead - the best I've ever read. A philosophy told in a story form. Definitely the pick of the books. If you want to claim you're an avid reader, your life doesn't end without reading this book.

My Picks

  1. The Art of Creative Thinking - John Adair
  2. The Godfather - Mario Puzo
  3. The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho
  4. The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand
